The Cat is back for Halloween in an all-new version with an improved synthesis engine and has a strung-out friend in the shape of the Catnip effects module.

So, what is it? It’s a moody VCO of cat sounds that can be everything from a grumpy, old and farty cat, to an adorably fresh kitten. It can be sweet, it can be angry, it can be asleep and then suddenly turn on you without provocation. Attach a gate to the Pet input and you will be rewarded with feline-like noises. Dial-in the mood, dial down the age and you have a wide range of tones and possibilities at your disposal.

This new version 2 has an upgraded sound engine running at 24bit and 96kHz.
Catnip
If you did want to provoke the cute little beast then all you need is a splash of Catnip. Exactly what’s going on in there is anyone’s guess but you can blend between dry and wet food, swap in flavours, and increase the dose. Different flavours include Grumpy, Nyan, Smudge, Keyboard and LOL.
Bundle
You can buy them separately for $99 each but that would be ridiculous. The pair is $159 and is only available up until Halloween. They look great and could potentially be a huge barrel of fun for the cat-inclined or experimental cat artists.
