Could the new Manson MB Signature KR-1 be the perfect stealth axe?
Stealth Black '80s-tastic new model
Manson Guitar Works has launched a new MB Signature Guitar, the Manson KR-1. The KR-1 is part of its MA series, just in an all-new stealth appearance and with a built-in Sustainer. The guitar takes obvious visual cues from a classic ’80s TV show. Can you guess which one?
Manson MB Signature KR-1
This new release from Manson Guitar Works is the latest incarnation of its MA series models and comes in a Stealth Dry Satin Black finish with matching black Gotoh hardware and custom black paddle switches for the in-built Sustainiac Sustainer in the neck position. The guitar has an alder body, and a bolt-on hard maple neck with an ebony fretboard. And keeping with the stealth vibe of this model, there are no inlays on the fretboard itself, only Blue Luminlay dots on the side.
The only thing to break up the all-black look of the instrument is the bright red Manson logo on the headstock. But what could it all mean?
Pitch Black
The guitar comes loaded with a Manson PF-1 Etched Black Cover bridge pickup paired with that neck Sustainiac Sustainer I mentioned earlier. Pickups are wired via a Volume, Tone (using a Manson Custom CTS pot) and a coil-split, which should offer more than enough tones for the modern guitarist.
Two Versions
There are two versions available on launch. The standard KR-1, which is limited to 80 pieces worldwide, comes complete with a printed A5 certificate and a Manson exclusive black lined Hiscox hard case.
RRP – GBP 2499
Or you can opt for the K1T-1 edition. This is limited to just 20 pieces and features red anodised Manson custom hardware, which includes the volume and tone controls, a custom aluminium pickup surround, truss rod adjuster and new ‘M’ engraved updated machine head buttons. This version will also come with a larger A4 hand-signed certificate.
RRP – GBP 2999
