Behringer has produced a “Modded Out” version of the TD-3 Bassline synth based on the Devil Fish TB-303 modifications for a much meaner vibe.
Update March 2022: It’s acid yellow’s turn!
Update Feb 2022: It’s been a long road but we’ve just got word that stock of the TD-3-MO has reached the shops only 7 months after the official release. That’s only the silver one though, the yellow one is still a few weeks away.

In February last year Behringer mocked up a version of their TD-3 that incorporated all the TB-303 modifications they could find. Now it’s become a reality.

The modifications appear to be based largely upon the legendary Devil Fish mods. These include expanding the range of the filter, boosting the bass, injecting some FM and adding overdrive. The synth controls have been expanded to give better control over the envelopes including the ability to drone and you have a lot more CV ins and outs.
Some of Behringer’s own modifications include a 3-octave sub-oscillator with an octave switch for low, mid and high for some ground-shaking bass, and MIDI control over the filter cutoff for some decent DAW integration.

You now have separate envelopes for the filter and amp, variable glide times and 3 levels of Accent Sweep for pushing the resonance and 3 Accent Sweep speeds. There’s a dial for Filter FM and Filter Tracking to pull the cutoff in line with the notes.
One thing that’s missing from the TD-3-MO is the Distortion circuit which was a very cool feature of their original clone. Instead, we have the Muffler limiter and Overdrive mod from Devil Fish which has a very different sound to it. We also have LED lighting in the bottom of the case that flashes in time to your patterns, so while some things are lost some things are gained.
All of the modifications are really interesting and give a different tone and vibe to this synthesizer. While it sounds different to the TD-3 it still looks like good fun and has many more things to play with.

Nice! As you say, they’ve had to removed the TD3 distortion which is really great on low notes at low filter positions. But no doubt about it, this can make a wider range of growls than the TD3. These’ll be hard to get at first, as is normal.
Hello I don’t mean to burst anybody’s bubble however in the United States, the TD 3 MO, it’s not available none of the major retailers have it the last thing they received from their Behringer music tribe rep is a commitment date of May 2022 for the Silver and August for the Amber.
Even this websites partner for European sales has none of them in their warehouse in stock.
You can’t polish a turd.
