Tape Fragments from Mars: Experimental feedback loops
Samples from Mars has captured a bunch of analog synth movements through tape feedback loops for experimental sounds in multiple software instrument formats.

Samples from Mars is one of my favourite producers of samples. It captures all sorts of old synths and drum machines and put them out in simple and ready-to-go formats that you can drop into your chosen software sampler. Simple, cheap, effortlessly useful.
Tape Fragments is a slightly different prospect. Rather than multi-sampled instruments these are more experimental adventures in sound generation. Samples from Mars used an Oberheim OB-SX and Korg Polysix and manipulated them through a 1/4″ Otari tape and Echoplex tape echo feedback loops. The result is an otherworldly collection of vintage-sounding pads, spaced-out effects, flutes and leads. In the process they stumbled upon all sorts of artefacts from previously sessions bleeding into the loops, deep levels of hiss and that lovely sound of tape saturation.
Samples From Mars took all the most interesting bits and mapped them to keyboard style instruments so you can open them in Kontakt. Logic, Reason, FL Studio, Ableton Live or just drop the samples into anything you want.
