KRK introduces the KNS 6402 and KNS 8402 studio headphones
KRK has announced the new generation of KNS Series headphones. The brand says that the closed-back KNS 6402 and KNS 8402 are designed to provide good isolation, a wide frequency response and dynamic range and good stereo imaging for tracking, editing and mixing.

Both new models feature closed-back, circumaural designs with isolating foam pads. According to KRK, the KNS 6402 provides 26 dBA of isolation, while the KNS 8402 blocks out even more external noise at up to 30 dBA of isolation. A higher level of isolation also means that you get less bleed in the microphone during tracking, and if those figures translate to the real world, the new KNS series could be a great choice for that application.
Both the KRK KNS 6402 and the KNS 8402 are constructed from impact-resistant plastic with a self-aligning yoke system. This ensures a good fit and low weight for extended wearing comfort, KRK says. The cables and pads are replaceable, which means that the headphones should last you a while. While the KNS 6402 has a more traditional design with acoustic cellular foam pads, the KNS 9402 uses memory foam and a more modern design.
The new KNS series headphones feature 40 mm neodymium drivers with a nominal impedance of 36 ohms. KRK states a frequency response of 10 Hz to 22 kHz and a maximum SPL of 122 dB for the KNS 6402. The KNS 8402 comes in at 5 Hz to 23 kHz and 124 dB SPL.
Another difference is the cable, which includes an inline volume control on the KNS 8402. Both new models come with a protective soft bag and cleaning cloth.
