New Solar Guitars E1.6Jensen MKII signature model for Patrik Jensen
New signature model for the Haunted/Witchery guitarist
Solar Guitars has just released a modern Explorer-style signature guitar for Haunted/Witchery guitarist Patrik Jensen. This new model comes equipped with an EverTune Bridge and Fishman active pickups, and should be perfect for all your metal needs. With the E1.6Jensen MKII, Ola Englund’s guitar brand may have a winner on its hands.
Solar Guitars E1.6Jensen MKII
The new E1.6Jensen MKII from Solar Guitars is the latest signature model for Haunted/Witchery guitarist Patrik Jensen. The Solar E Type has an alder body with a veneer top. This is paired with a set-through 24.75″ scale length, C profile maple neck, that is reinforced with graphite.
The 13.78″ radius ebony fingerboard has 22 super jumbo stainless steel frets and for once, we get “impact wave” fret markers, whereas normally with Solar models, you just have a 12th fret inlay. So this signature model really does stand out from the pack.
A Real Looker
I like how the veneer top makes that black to red fade of the finish really pop. The faded finish is also carried over to the headstock. Overall, it’s a nice-looking guitar that is pretty unique, especially with those fret markers!
Fishman Fluence Modern
The guitar comes loaded with a set of Fishman Fluence Modern active pickups. These are then wired via a three-way toggle switch, and a volume and tone knob. The tone control has a push-pull function that lets you switch between the Fishman Fluence pickups’ active and passive voices. It also comes factory fitted with an EverTune Bridge and Solar locking tuners.
The E1.6Jensen MKII is certainly a lot of guitar for the money. And the hardware/pickup choice is perfect for the style of music it is aimed at. Mr. Jensen plays in two Swedish metal groups, The Haunted and Witchery, so I reckon he knows exactly what works for this genre. The model has certainly moved on from its original version back in 2018.
This is a great modern guitar from Solar Guitars, and I’m impressed by the tones in the official demo video, which you can watch below.
RRP – EUR 1399 / USD 1399
