J Rockett Audio Designs have just added the SOS Buffer to their Tour Series range of guitar effects pedals. This dinky sized unit has one job: to keep your guitar’s signal intact.

Save Our Signal

The SOS Buffer is designed to balance any impedance issues on your pedal board, allowing you to add some treble if necessary when driving longer cable lengths. It’s a ‘fix it’ pedal so it shouldn’t colour your tone in any unwanted way. Think ‘Save Our Signal’ for gigging guitarists.

This simple pedal has one knob on the front that adjusts the amounts of subtle high frequencies added back into your signal. Typically longer cable lengths will degrade your top end and lead to a dull guitar tone, so the SOS Buffer can dial those back in for you.

This is a potentially useful little box and one that powers directly from a standard 9V power supply. You should be able to squeeze it onto your pedal board easily, as it is so minute. Top-mounted input and output jacks, plus a LED to let you know its working, means its a ‘set and forget’ box that could be just what is needed for larger pedal boards or players with longer guitar cable lengths.

RRP GBP £75
