AVID Pro Tools 2021.10 update: Apple Silicon support, UI customization, and other goodies
AVID is keeping Pro Tools up with the times. The 10th update to Pro Tools 2021 homes in on the kind of features that modern users would expect. Things like Apple Silicon support, remote controls for the AVID Carbon interface, Komplete Kontrol integration with Native Instruments gear, flexible track routing, and UI customization. Apple Silicon Support
With the October 2021 release, you can now run Pro Tools | HDX and HD Native systems as well as the Avid Video Engine on the latest Macs. 2021.6 introduced M1 support for Pro Tools | First, Pro Tools, Pro Tools | Ultimate and Pro Tools | Carbon.
Remote control Pro Tools | Carbon preamps
Adjust, save, and recall Pro Tools | Carbon preamp settings remotely from your Pro Tools session or AVID control surface.
Komplete Kontrol integration
The Native Instruments Komplete Kontrol application will automatically sync with the selected track in your Pro Tools session. You can also control many Pro Tools functions directly from compatible controllers, which include the Komplete Kontrol S-series (MK2), A-series, and M32 keyboard.
Additional track routing flexibility
Pro Tools lets you route outputs and sends to nearly any bus, regardless of the width, therefore eliminating the need to create sub-paths. Pro Tools will automatically downmix or map the signal. This means, for example, you can route a 5.0 track directly to a 7.1.2 bus, or easily send surround tracks to stereo effects or headphones.
Pro Tools UI customization
You can change custom background colors, toggle high contrast UI elements, and control nearly every UI element. So if you ever wanted to really tweak the Pro Tools UI according to your mood, taste, time of the day and so on, you can finally indulge.
