Sknote intros the MetaVocals auto-tuning and vocal processing plug-in
Sknote has announced MetaVocals, a new all-in-one vocal toolkit that includes auto-tuning, doubling, harmonizing, vocoding and even a voice-to-synth feature. Can MetaVocals capture a slice of the crowded vocal processing market?
Sknote MetaVocals
Just a few weeks after Slate Digital’s new metaTune plug-in, here’s another new offer for all your auto-tuning and vocal transformation needs. Sknote MetaVocals is designed as an easy-to-use tool that does several things at once and delivers quick results.
Sknote says that MetaVocals is built around a realtime tuning engine. There’s the familiar little “keyboard” at the bottom, which allows you to set the scale. By adjusting the speed of the automatic tuning effect, you can achieve results that range from subtle pitch correction to in-your-face auto-tune effects. The plug-in can also output MIDI notes, which you can then edit using your favorite editor and send back to the plug-in for playback. That sounds like a great way to get creative with your vocal tracks.
But MetaVocals can do more. It’s also a harmonizer and doubler that generates up to two additional voices. These can also be controlled by MIDI events if needed.
The integrated vocoder and vocal synth offer more creative possibilities. The synthesizer converts the signal to a synthetic sound, which is controlled by the characteristics of the vocal track. The vocoder controls the timbre of the synthesized sound using the frequency spectrum of the input signal.
Highly processed vocals are a must for modern pop and R&B productions, and etaVocals offers a full bag of tricks to help you build them. At the low introductory price, it looks like a great addition to any producer’s toolkit.
Price and compatibility
Sknote currently offers a Black Friday pre-buy deal on MetaVocals for USD 29.99. The plug-in will be delivered when the offer ends. The regular price will be USD 49.99.
The plug-in runs on Windows and macOS in VST, AU and AAX formats.
