New mid-priced models and colour options for 2022 from D'Angelico Guitars

For 2022, D’Angelico Guitars has added a few new models and finish choices to its lineup. New guitars include the mid-priced Premier Bedford and the EXL-1 electric models. New finishes include the new Sky Blue option for the Premier SS, DC, Mini DC.

D’Angelico Premier Bedford

The new mid-priced Premier Bedford model for 2022 is a welcome addition to the D’Angelico Guitars lineup. The offset model is available in either mahogany with the Sky Blue finish, or basswood with both the Black Flake and Oxblood finishes. Elsewhere you have a C-shaped maple scarf neck with an ovangkol fretboard loaded with 22 frets and a set of white pearloid block inlays.

This model comes factory fitted with a set of Seymour Duncan-designed P90 pickups, with individual volume and tone knobs and a three-way blade pickup switch. Hardware includes a 6-point trem and a set of Grover Rotomatic tuners.

D’Angelico Premier EXL-1

The archtop Premier EXL-1 model is based around a laminated spruce top with laminated flame maple back and sides. The neck, like the Premier Bedford above, is made of maple and has a C-shaped profile, as well as an ovangkol fretboard with 22 frets and white pearloid block inlays.

This model features a single floating Seymour Duncan-designed mini-humbucker in the neck position, with the layout consisting of one volume and one tone knob. I like the styling on this one and think that the f-holes, ovangkol bridge paired with the stairstep tailpiece, and the set of Grover Rotomatic tuners make it all look the part, without breaking the bank.

D’Angelico Premier Mini DC, Premier DC, Premier SS – in Sky Blue

You can now also get the Premier Mini DC, Premier DC, and the Premier SS in the new Sky Blue finish. These models all follow the same specifications, including C-shaped maple necks with 22 frets and ovangkol fretboards. They come loaded with a pair of Seymour Duncan-designed humbuckers, wired via two volume and two tone knobs, and a three-way toggle switch.

These semi-hollow models all come in at about the same price point, so you have some nice choices. And I think the new Sky Blue finish option suits them really well.

D’Angelico Premier LS Acoustics – in Satin Vintage Sunburst

D’Angelico’s Premier LS Acoustics are now available in a Satin Vintage Sunburst finish. Thewe include the Tammany, Gramercy, Lexington, Bowery and Fultonare,. All five models come in at the same price point, so much like the semi-hollow electrics above, you get a lot of choice for your money.
