Squier Classic Vibe Baritone Custom Telecaster with a 27″ scale length
Baritone '60s style Custom Telecasters? Yes please!
Not content with just reissuing the traditional Fender shapes in a Squier version, the Californian guitar giant has announced a Classic Vibe Baritone Custom Telecaster for 2022. This has classic ’60s looks, but with an extended 27″ scale length that should be (ahem) atuned to lower ranges and modern styles. It’s an interesting new baritone guitar – and that’s always a good thing!
Squier Classic Vibe Baritone Custom Telecaster
Fender is offering its new Squier Classic Vibe Baritone Custom Telecaster models in two finishes, with some quite traditional Tele specifications like barrel saddles, a 9.5-inch laurel fingerboard with narrow-tall frets on C-shape maple neck with a vintage-tint gloss finish. The only feature that’s raising our eyebrows is the 27″scale length!
Affordable Baritone
The long neck makes these ’60s-style, double-bound Telecasters with matching ’60s style headstocks a great proposition for players that crave more low end definition. It’s very welcome to see more baritone models these days, especially at this affordable price point. Plus, it should hopefully slow down a lot of the scalpers on auction sites, asking ridiculous amounts for used models that were discontinued a few years ago.
Traditional Style
You can get this new model in either Black or a 3-Color Sunburst. Both have a Nyatoh body with lovely double biding. They’re loaded with a pair of ‘Fender Designed’ Alnico single-coil pickups in both positions with the standard wiring of Volume and Tone controls and a three-way selector switch.
Overall, I’m very pleased to see two new affordable baritone models on offer this year. It helps musicians access new tones without breaking the bank. There are loads of releases today from both Fender and their Squier range, so bye sure to check the links below for all the new releases scheduled for 2022.

I think the most underpriced high performance bass is the Squier Precision Mini. while the rest of the bass world has gone crazy with price increases, the Mini started inn 2019 at 179 dollars and has only gone up to $199.m m My Mini has given me tones and playability which stack up favorably with previous basses including 67 Jazz and Mustang basses, 2018 Squire PJ and CV Jaguar and a 67 Gibson EB-O.
