With the G112A-FR, did Harley Benton make perfect cabinet for budget modellers?
100 Watt Class D cabinet designed for modellers
The new Harley Benton G112A-FR may soon become the ideal companion for budget modellers. The system offers players a lot of useful features and at great price point. So if you’re looking for an affordable FR speaker, the G112A-FR may be worth checking out.
Harley Benton G112A-FR
The Harley Benton G112A-FR is a 1×12′′ cabinet, with a 12′′ woofer and a 1′′ compression driver or tweeter. The “FR” in the model name stands for flat response, i.e. the desired linear frequency response from 100 to 20,000 Hz. This is exactly what modelling hardware, such as the Line 6 Helix, etc., work perfect with.
Monitoring
The cabinet offers 100 watts of power amplifier power (Class D) and can be used “tilt back”, i.e. angled, so that apart from being used as a normal speaker cabinet and radiate sound forward, it can also aim the sound directly to the guitarist, just like a regular stage monitor, which can often be very useful in live situations.
Connectivity
You connect the modeller via a jack or XLR into the cabinet (i.e. mono), and from there either via XLR further into the PA or the next speaker cabinet. On the G112A-FR itself, the volume, resonance and presence can be adjusted via controls, and a mute switch mutes the box. At 14.2 kg, it is definitely not lightweight, but it should be nice and solid, and therefore perfect for handling the rigours of the road.
At this super low price point, Harley Benton’s new G112A-FR cabinet could be the perfect partner for your amp modelling setup. If you’re in the market for one, it’s certainly worth checking out, especially if you are on a limited budget.

Yeah but you need a power converter to use it in the USA. Why doesn’t Harley Benton make one for USA voltage???! Wtf
