Waldorf: Something is coming our way
Waldorf has popped a little tease onto social media that gets our juices flowing. All we know is that it has keys and is “Working. Under. Pressure”.
Tease
Bum bum bum bum-de dum dum – Under Pressure? Could it be the long-awaited collaboration between Bowie, Queen and Waldorf? Could the pressure refer to some kind of hydraulic based form of synthesis? Or perhaps, if we try to keep it within the bounds of reality then maybe it’s talking about polyphonic aftertouch and MPE support.
There are lots of comments that suggest it’s the adding of a polytouch keyboard to some existing or historical Waldorf synth. Recent offerings such as the Iridium, Kyra and M are all desktop units and so perhaps this is to announce that they’ve developed a new polytouch keyboard bed that will bring in keyboard versions of these synths.
They don’t currently have a keyboard-based synth with the logo that close to the keyboard. The Blofeld keyboard is the closest to that design, but this photo seems to place the logo more central.
Intriguing stuff. I’m looking forward to hearing all about it. Lets us know in the comments what you think could be coming from Waldorf.
- More from Waldorf.

Hi robin long time reader , I’ve been watching molten music you tube and only the other realized from your comments that your the same person 🙂 I hope it’s an iridium keyboard with a non falling screen as that’s all that’s stopped me from buying it was going to get the m but I’ll wait to see what this announcement is first
I hope Waldorf is teasing a premium controller keyboard. There are some solid options out there, but they all have too much extra stuff when all I really want is a quality, semi-weighted keybed.
It actually wouldn’t be too far off to imagine this as an accessory to the Iridium and M (or the likes of Blofeld and Streichfett).
Waldorf: something new to distract from our legacy of unfinished projects.
My guess is an electric piano or midi keyboard with weighted keys.
