Antelope Audio launches Discrete 4 & 8 Pro Synergy Core interfaces

Today, Antelope Audio introduced Pro versions of its Discrete 4 & 8 Synergy Core audio interfaces. The Discrete interfaces are a noteworthy proposition for professionals with a comprehensive feature set and streamlined connectivity. The Pro versions keep all that but add meaningful improvements such as updated converters, Thunderbolt 3 connectivity, additional DSP power and a virtual patch bay.
Antelope Audio Discrete 4 & 8 Pro Synergy Core interfaces
Antelope’s new Discrete interfaces boast updated AD/DA converters which keep the same respectable dynamic range (up to 130dB). There’s also Thunderbolt 3 connectivity (USB is still there) and additional DSP power. Antelope has increased the number of on-board FPGA and DSP chips to let users load Synergy Core effects on up to 16 channel strips. Another improvement is the addition of a virtual patch bay in place of drop-down signal routing inside the Control Panel application.

The thing about the Discretes is they are Antelope’s bargain pro-audio offerings. They have the features but come at significantly lower prices than comparable units from both Antelope and its closest competitors. At present, you can’t buy a new interface with DSP power and 8 discrete preamps for just under EUR 2000 from anyone else. The Discretes make for an unique card in the Antelope stack. It makes sense to keep them in top-top shape with meaningful refreshes like this one.
