Jeff Loomis gets a new Signature Pro Series Jackson Soloist SL7
New Jeff Loomis signature 7-string
The new Jeff Loomis Signature Pro Series Jackson Soloist SL7 looks like a 7-string weapon. Designed by Jackson in collaboration with Loomis, this is one heavy hitting signature model.
Jeff Loomis Signature Pro Series Jackson Soloist SL7
Jeff Loomis, known for his work with prog-metal band Nevermore and Arch Enemy, plus his extensive solo work, is a pretty demanding player. This new signature Pro Series Jackson Soloist SL7 has been created by Loomis and Jackson to guitarist’s specifications.
Specifications
The basic specifications are as follows: It has a 26.5” scale length, a basswood body with a sandblasted ash top paired with a through-body three-piece maple neck with graphite reinforcement. You get a 12”-16” compound radius ebony fingerboard fitted with 24 jumbo frets. I also like that they opted for a heel-mount truss rod adjustment wheel, as it makes adjustment super easy. The guitar is finished in Satin Black with white binding, and looks very smart, I think. You also get the famous shark tooth inlays, all of which make it look like a classic Jackson.
Seymour Duncan Blackouts
The guitar comes with a pair of Active Seymour Duncan Jeff Loomis Signature Blackouts pickups, which are wired via a three-way switch and a single volume control. Hardware includes a Floyd Rose 1500 Series double-locking tremolo bridge system, a set of Jackson sealed die-cast tuners, and a set of Dunlop dual-locking strap buttons.
It looks like a great guitar, and you can hear it in action in the official Jackson video below.
