Accentize releases DeRoom2 and DeRoom Pro2 ambience removal plug-ins
Developer Accentize released DeRoom2 and DeRoom Pro2. Both plug-ins are used to remove unwanted ambiance from audio using machine learning algorithms – a blessing for post-processing voice and field recordings.
Accentize DeRoom2 and DeRoom Pro2
According to Accentize, the algorithms in the two plug-ins are comparable to those in its recently updated VoiceGate2. The new addition is a neural network trained in room resonance removal using thousands of ambience recordings. Resultingly, the algorithm can distinguish between the reverberation component and the dry audio. With its help, you can make the most out of recordings from sub-optimal environments before reaching for spectral editing tools.
DeRoom2 works automatically and in real time. All you have to do is adjust the amount of reduction taking place and the algorithm will take care of the rest. Comparatively, DeRoom Pro2 offers additional features such as advanced algorithms, the special Spectral Focus Mode, Attack and Release controls, separate processing for the left and right channels, and additional metering (spectrogram and gain). You can also listen to the reverb sound in isolation.
DeRoom2 is great if you just want to clean up some dialogue without kicking up a fuss. DeRoom Pro2 is clearly meant for pros and everything about it reflects that, including the price.
DeRoom2 price and availability
DeRoom2 costs EUR 59 and DeRoom Pro2 costs EUR 237. Both are free updates for DeRoom and DeRoom Pro owners. The plug-ins are available in VST3, AAX, and AU formats for 64-bit Windows and macOS. You can get free demo versions from the manufacturer’s website.
