The original 1922 Nosferatu movie is based on Bram Stroker’s 1897 Dracula novel, a movie which celebrates its 100th anniversary this year. This new limited edition ESP Pyrograph Nosferatu was created by artist Dumitru “Dino” Marudian using pyrography, a process by which the artist burns highly detailed artwork directly into the wood. You may remember that we covered his work back in 2020 with the ESP Pyrography series.

Specifications

The Eclipse single-cut shaped guitar features a chambered mahogany body and a plain maple top, onto which the Nosferatu artwork is burned, along with a three-piece mahogany 24.75″ scale length neck. The ebony fretboard is loaded with 22 Jescar stainless steel frets and has the split-flag inlays.

Black Winter

Hardware includes a TonePros locking bridge and tailpiece, a bone nut, and a set of locking Sperzel Trim Lok tuners. Finally, you get a set of high-output Seymour Duncan Black Winter humbuckers which were hand-wound by Maricela “MJ” Juarez in the Seymour Duncan custom shop. These are wired via a three-way pickup selector switch, two volume controls and master tone control.

Ultra-Limited Edition

Only 15 pieces will be made, making it an ultra-limited edition and a very rare guitar. If you want one, you will need to act fast, as I am sure they will sell out in minutes. Each ESP Pyrographic Series guitar comes with a Certificate of Authenticity signed by ESP and artist Dino Muradian.

I have to admit that I love the ESP Eclipse models anyway, having owned a few in the past. And I also love vampires, especially the Nosferatu movie, so the model is a win-win for me. Plus, in my opinion, the pyrography technique works really here, making these truly outstanding collectable instruments. They aren’t cheap though!
