Acustica Audio Smoke
15 different preamps are available as part of Smoke. Slap them onto your tracks and your mix will sound in a rather different way. You can also engage up to 16x oversampling for improved audio quality.
The Smoke Stereo EQ plug-in is inspired by Pultec-style designs, lovingly referred to as “Purple-style” by Acustica Audio to avoid trademark infringements. However, this is no straight Pultec action as there are several differences. For example, there is a greater range of frequencies for the treble boost. Still, the passive tube EQ design is what it is and ensures musical-sounding frequency shaping with a distinct character.
The Smoke Comp plug-in is based on a reissued Vari-Mu tube compressor designed in 1956. There are six release settings and three operating modes for different audio material.
Finally, Smoke Strip is a channel strip combining the best of the suite in a single plug-in. So you get preamps, fully parametric 4-band passive EQ with high and low pass filters, and a tube compressor. As usual, each plug-in comes in two versions: ZL (stands for Zero Latency) and Standard.

Acustica Audio Smoke – Price and availability
You can get Acustica Audio Smoke until April 20 2022 for EUR 99, down from EUR 149. You can also get Smoke Comp separately for the introductory price of EUR 79. The suite is available in 64-bit VST2, VST3, AAX, and AU formats for macOS and Windows. Acustica’s free Aquarius software is required for installation and licensing.
