Harley Benton adds all new JJ and JP basses to lineup
Two new modern looking bass models announced in 4 and 5-string versions
Harley Benton add two new bass series. The JJ-45OP, JJ-45OP, JP-45OP and JP-55OP come with roasted necks and modern styling. These new affordable bass models could be perfect for anyone looking for a new bass this year.
Harley Benton JP-45OP and JP-55OP
The Harley Benton JP-45OP and JP-55OP differ mainly in the number of strings. In the Deluxe series, there is an ash body with an extended upper horn, so the lower one is shorter and gives the body an overall dynamic look. A satin Canadian roasted maple neck with a fretboard made of roasted maple is secured with a 6-bolt system, and equipped with 24 medium jumbo frets. The JP-45OP comes with 40 mm saddle, whilst the JP-55OP with 45 mm width instead to accommodate that extra string.
P-Style Pickups
Fitted with two Alnico-5 pickups, a JB single coil on the bridge and P split coil midway. The controls consist of Volume, Balance und Tone. Hardware includes a robust looking Wilkinson bridge. plus a set of die cast tuners.
Harley Benton JJ-45 and JJ-55
Next up are these JJ-45OP and JJ-55OP models, in a modern version of the Jazz Bass style. The JJ is equipped with two JB-style Alnico-5 single coils. Just this time you get active electronics onboard which is useful and makes them potentially a little more versatile for some players.
The overall construction is made using the same woods, and hardware as the P-Bass inspired models above. Both varieties of these new bass models are being launched in Natural, White, Blue and Sunburst finishes. Which I think look very nice over that ash body with the grain showing through.
