You’ve already got CV and modulation going all over the place, so why not harness it to drive a synchronised light show? ILLUMINATOR is an 8-channel converter that turns CV signals into an appropriate voltage to drive LEDs and LED strips. It will be pulsing and throbbing along to your jams and modular noodling and it doesn’t even take up any rack space.
There’s no memory or presets, you just plug in your signals from your modular and let ILLUMINATOR do the rest. It accepts all sorts of voltage signals from 3 to 20 volts. Each channel has an individual trimmer pot to define the sensitivity which in turn dictates the brightness of the LEDs. You can run negative or bipolar voltages into it but it will ignore it and treat it as zero. Could be handy for some on/off action.
The connections are Eurorack patch sockets or the crocodile clip pins like those found on the Pulsar-23. The output is then DC 12V which is compatible with standard 12V LED strips. You don’t have to use LEDs of course, it could be used to drive electromagnetic motors, triggers or filament bulbs. Whatever works.
