Audio to CV pitch plug-in: MOD Devices adds synthesis
MOD Devices adds Control Voltage and modular synthesis
This Audio to CV Pitch plug-in works on the MOD platform and offers guitar players access to control voltage and modular synths. Opening up the world of synthesis to guitar players via their fretboards. No need for special pickups, and a promise of a fast dynamic response to your playing style.
Audio to CV Pitch plug-in
The Audio to CV Pitch plug-in is produced by Mod Devices and runs on the MOD platform. This includes both the Mod Duo X and the Mod Dwarf. The plug-in offers various controls to set up the sensitivity, so you can dial it in, to work on your guitar setup. MOD Devices has also released plenty of material to help get you up and running. Perfect for anyone new to synthesis.
Guitar to Synth
The Audio to CV Pitch plug-in translates your guitar’s audio signal into Control Voltage (CV). Which in this case is purely digital within the MOD system.
On the virtual pedalboard, users can drag strips to the available CV-compatible plug-ins. This gives users a similar flexible experience to using a real-life modular synth setup. Just in a virtual environment, which is relatively easy to navigate and has a lot fewer patch cables.
The plug-in is designed in such a way that it also translates your note bends cleanly into the digital format. This is where most plug-ins have failed in the past. It will be interesting to see how this translates in the real world, once guitar players get their hands on it.
Free Update
The Audio to CV Pitch plug-in itself is free to download. MOD Devices has also provided a set of synthesisers to get you going as well.
