The new Meris LVX is a Modular Delay System that the company has just announced is coming this Summer and will be available for pre-order on the company site. This new delay goes far beyond your normal preset effect unit and is based on some pretty advanced processing. The heart of the system is based on an Advanced ARM Processor, so expect a whole host of amazing delay effects.

[29.02.2024] From now on, you can download the free software prEDITOR on the manufacturer’s website for the versatile Meris LVX delay pedal. This makes it far easier to create and change your presets via a computer. Allowing users to clearly and easily create new patches. Making life a lot simpler when it comes to editing the delays, especially when compared to the pedal’s small screen.

In addition, you can manage the entire preset library via drag-and-drop to access your favourite settings more easily and quickly at a live gig or in the studio. Of course, the software also allows you to configure the basic settings of the hardware.

The icing on the cake is that the editor is completely free so that all existing owners can start with it straight away at no extra cost. To use the new prEDITOR attach the Meris LVX to a MIDI interface and your computer via MIDI In/Out.

LVX Modular Delay System
This new Meris LVX Modular Delay System sounds like it will be a very high-performance delay effect, and with the Advanced ARM Processor, it will also be a powerful one. There is 2540mS of what Meris calls a ‘Highly Configurable Dual Delay’ on offer, and the unit sports a colour screen. This should help make navigating all the parameters and options a lot easier. As with an effect like this, you need it to be intuitive, so hopefully, this user interface will help and not hinder users.
The unit has an analogue signal path with a JFET input section and uses 24-bit AD/DA with 32-bit floating point DSP, so it is all high-end stuff.

Creativity in a Box?
With 99 Preset locations arranged in 33 Banks, there are plenty of places to store your creations. Users also have access to a Favorite Preset Bank for instant access to their three top presets. The unit also features a true stereo 60-second looper which I would imagine will open up the creative possibilities of the LVX system. The main controls on the front panel consisting of knobs labelled Time, Feedback, Mix, Mod and a Preset/Pages knob which also Saves. Plus two knobs labelled Controller 1 and Controller 2 for moving around that colour screen and changing parameters.
It also has four footswitches, which operate looper functions, and can be used to go up and down banks, or access the built-in tuner function.
The stereo delay and effects include things like Preamps, Granulize, Cassette, Poly Pitch, and more. Which, suggests a very creative effect unit. One which should keep effect tweakers busy for months on end. Meris has taken parts of their Polymoon, Hedra, Enzo, and Ottobit Jr. These have then been applied to the LVX, so I can see it being popular.

I/O
The LVX includes a selectable set of inputs that can handle guitars and synthesisers. It also has MIDI In and Out ports, these are on full-sized DIN, it also has an expression pedal input. I can imagine assigning parameters will really open up the expressive qualities of this pedal. Plus, a USB-C port is on the back panel, so expect editability and updates via this. The unit also has a selectable True Bypass (Relay) or an analogue Buffered Bypass.
