The Godfather
We were introduced to The Godfather prototype at Superbooth 2021 but now Enjoy Electronics has launched it on crowdfunding site Indiegogo. The modest goal of around £13,000 was smashed in no time at all and the best deals have already gone. However, at the time of writing, you can still get 30% off and snatch one up for €796.
The Godfather is a beautiful piece of work. It has a Moog vibe to it thanks to the form factor and looks dashingly handsome. Everything from the knobs, the OLED screen and LEDs seems to hit the right spot.
Processing
There are 4 independent channels of audio processing. You could see it as a 4 channel mixer with full channel strip processing but that might be oversimplifying things. Each channel has controls over gain, panning, width, EQ, compression, saturation, filters, reverb and level. Then there’s the slightly cryptic Double Pulse Delay and filtering within it.
In the modulation section there are two LFOs with 5 waveforms and syncable to the main clock source. Each LFO can be assigned to as many and as much as you like.
The display comes into a lot of use. Many things are tied to the main channel encoder but it seems really easy to navigate if the dance of fingers over the demo video is anything to go by. There is a philosophy of one knob per function and for the most part that does seem to come through.

Connections
Over on the right is a patch bay which adds to that Moog Mother-32 vibe. You’ll find your 4 inputs with 4 direct outputs. There are 4 CV inputs for modulation and a pair of CV outputs for those LFOs to emerge. There’s one gate output and MIDI In/Out.
I’ve spotted a Master level knob so there much be a master output somewhere but I haven’t seen it mentioned.
The Godfather – Processing to die for?
It does look pretty darn awesome. I’ve always thought that Moog should produce a 60HP multi-effects or processing unit but it looks like Enjoy Electronics has beaten them to it. The way the channels each have their own filter and delay makes it much more than a mixer with a couple of send effects. You’ve got a lot of interconnectivity in performance that could bring a lot of things together in unusual ways. It could become a real focus for a set.

At €796 the price is more than reasonable for the level of quality and adventures in processing. The only drawback is that it won’t be available until October. But some things are worth the wait.

Cool video. I don’t usually like marketing vids without product features and sounds, but I appreciate what they were going for here. Must have had fun doing it.
If its italian company and there are pages and pages of information about visuals, but only minor info about audio specifications not even filter slope or sample rate or even if its digital or analog, then its clearly amateur toy aimed at people who have no clue about music. Typical italian aproche to marketing make it expensive and good looking and market of incompetent people is yours.
