These new Harley Benton MV-4MSB Gotoh short-scale bass models come in some great vintage-inspired colours and with quality hardware. Following on from the recent MV-4JB models, these short-scale basses look perfect for players that want a smaller-sized bass. Making them ideal for anyone looking for a quality bass at an affordable price point.
Harley Benton MV-4MSB Gotoh
Combing an alder body with a bolt-on caramelised Canadian maple neck with a Roseacer skunk stripe these Harley Benton MV-4MSB Gotoh offer a great short-scale bass experience, at a price point that is hard to beat.
I’m also very impressed with the range of colours on offer with these models, which includes Daphne Blue, Black, Seafoam Green, Shell Pink, Sunburst, and Burgundy Mist. Plus, they each have a matching painted headstock.
Each one comes with a 4-ply tortoiseshell pickguard, which looks good against those colours.

Short-Scale
The 30″ short-scale D profile neck comes with a bound Pau Ferro fretboard and has white ABS dot inlays, 19 medium frets and a white graphite nut.
Shorter-scale-length bass guitars, in my experience, are a lot of fun to play and are also very handy to have around for recording. Plus, if you are of smaller stature or just have smaller hands, then they are a lot easier to play as well.

Roswell
This model has a pair of Roswell JBA-B Alnico 5 single coil (bridge) and Roswell PBA Alnico 5 single coil (neck) pickups. Both of these are wired via a single volume and tone control. When I inquired about this, they said that both pickups are always on. This may or may not be something you like, but it is always a fairly simple job to rewire or add a switch, etc
They come with a hardtail bridge with brass saddles and you get a set of Gotoh GB-7 tuners.
They ship factory strung with a set of D’Addario EXL165 .045 – .105 strings.

Damn. No lefty.
Trying to convince my wife that we need one of these in Burgandy Mist sent to the states immediately. Might as well grab a Beat Bass while we’re at it!
