Guitar Gear Gems this week features the now fully production, fruity-flavoured Mattoverse Floravolt. A pedal powered by fruit and vegetables that we first saw last year. then we check out the LesLee an internal onboard Leslie speaker effect for your guitar. Finally, we have a look at the new Goblin Tone Distorter fuzz pedal.
Mattoverse Floravolt
The Mattoverse Floravolt is a pedal that uses either fruit or vegetables as power for its circuit. To power up the FloraVolt, push a fruit or vegetable onto the silver and copper pegs that protrude out of the top of the pedal.

Mattoverse reckons depending on what you use that you will get something from starved distorted tones to mild overdrive and low-gain crunch drive tones.

I’m sure things could get very messy, but the removable acrylic drip plate should help somewhat. This pedal reminds me a lot of the Rainger Effects Mini Bar which uses various liquids to colour the tone of the effect.

Analogue
The circuit is completely analogue and works for 8 hours on a single charge. It offers a speed range from 0.4 to 12Hz and has an auto-stutter mode.
It sounds interesting and the effect itself is also a true bypass circuit and so won’t mess with your guitar tone when it is not engaged. Plus, it has both mono and stereo modes available as well.
Check out the video below to hear it in action. I think it sounds pretty good and I like that it is a drop-in kit that requires no permanent modification to your instrument. Therefore no routing or major surgery is needed and it is 100% reversible if you want to remove it.

Humanoid Pedals Goblin
Finally, there are the new Humanoid Pedals The Goblin Tone Distorter pedals which are based on two high-gain silicon transistors.
Perfect for robust dirt/fuzz tones and it will do smooth to dirty with a bit of everything in between. The pedals are handmade in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Voltage Feedback
The controls are Volume, Drive and Fuzz. The Fuzz control is a voltage feedback circuit, so start at maximum and dial down to taste., Whereas the Drive control is used to add clarity, preserve natural pick attack and help with your dynamics.
It is a true bypass design and powers from an external 9-volt power supply only.
