Boss Katana-50 MkII EX, Katana Artist MkII Head and more
New updated Katana models revealed
The Boss Katana series has been updated with three new models: Katana-50 MkII EX, Boss Katana Artist MK II Head and the Katana 2×12 Waza speaker cabinet.
Boss Katana-50 MK II EX
The Katana-50 MkII EX has 50 watts of power and now offers support for the Boss GA-FC and GA-FC EX footswitches. This allows functions such as tone memories, effects and the like to be achieved more directly. In addition, a “mix-ready” sound can now be sent to the FOH or PA via the line out.
Plus, the EX models can be used with other Katana amps in stereo mode.
Boss Katana Artist MK II Head
Until now, the Katana Artist MK II was only available as a combo. The features remain identical. Five amp characteristics, five variations, five simultaneous virtual effect pedals and access to Boss Tone Studio.
There are three outputs available: 2x 16 ohms and 1x 8 ohms.
Boss Katana Cabinet 212 Waza
The Katana Cabinet 212 Waza is a 2×12 speaker cabinet with two Custom Waza 12′′ speakers.
In terms of sound, it should is based on a “British Stack Speaker” of the 1960s. It can be used as either a closed-back or an open-back cabinet.

It’s important to note that the non-Artist head has small speakers built-in, useful for practice, but the Artist head has no speakers.
