Logue CL-1: The ultimate MIDI controller for Ableton Live?

With the Logue CL-1 you can intuitively control your software instruments and effects in Ableton Live. This is made easy with automatic mapping, and well-sized controls with individual displays. It’s a combination of some great design concepts, that make the Logue CL-1 very formidable at first glance. Let’s find out more!
There are plenty of controllers out there that promise you a break from your mouse. However, not all of them are easy to map, and how do you remember the assignments once they’re set up? With a very stately-looking vintage design, Logue has launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund the CL-1, offering a premium choice for Ableton Live users.
The Logue CL-1
The CL-1 has an angled panel equipped with 28 rotary controls and four buttons, all nicely cased in aluminium with wooden side panels. Once you have a software instrument active in Live, simply activating automatic mapping instantly puts the CL-1 into play.
Asside from the preset mappings you can also customize and save your own controller assignment sets. The individual displays make it easy to navigate mappings, and they can be colour-coded to make the controls even more distinctive.

While Ableton Live is the sole focus in terms of compatibility, it shouldn’t be hard for Logue to implement support for other DAW systems when they have funding.
Overall, it seems like an impressive controller that provides another dimension to your DAW workflow.
Pricing and availability:
Logue aim to release the CL-1 around April 2024, and while the goal of over €150,000 seems ambitious it shouldn’t be hard getting support for a product of this quality.

I prefer the MP Midi controller, which get along with every DAW and got a screen and more buttons.
great idea – and I much prefer this to the MP Midi controller which to me just wastes desk space
Nice vintage look and I love buttons but in this case it is expensive overkill. My midi controller already does this and so does my mouse. Great look though. I don’t see any justification for buying it.
