Fender Japan Traditional 60s Competition Stripe range announced
Limited Run Competition Stripe models revealed
Fender Japan Traditional 60s Competition Stripe models announced. These new limited rue include 60s-style models Stratocaster, Telecaster, Mustang, Jazzmaster and Precision Bass. All in Olympic White with a Competition Stripe finish. These follow the recent Stratocaster Reverse Head model exclusive model.
Traditional 60s Competition Stripe
These Traditional 60s Competition Stripe models are a new limited run from Fender Japan. Each model has an Olympic White finish with matching painted headstocks. Depending on which model, there is a Competition Stripe in either red or blue.
All the guitars and the single P-Bass model are 1960s-style instruments. They all include a set of Fender Japan’s Vintage-Style pickups that are specific to each instrument.
Construction
All models use a basswood body and this is paired with a U-shape maple neck with a 9.5″ radius rosewood fretboard that is fitted with 21 vintage-style frets. They each have a bone nut and traditional white dot fret inlays.
The hardware is all pretty standard and is chrome/nickel throughout the different models.
Each model also comes in a Fender gig bag included in the price.
Limited Run
The Fender Traditional ’60s Competition Stripe models are a limited run for the Japanese market announced for 2023. This style of Fender is already quite collectable in some circles, as a lot of guitarists love that stripe graphic.
Ideally, some of these new models will make it out of Japan and into the EU and the USA. I have seen this happen quite frequently in the last two years and so there is some hope we may see a few make it into the rest of the world.
Sixties-style Fenders are always popular, and having a new limited run like this one will no doubt get collectors and players alike excited.
