Squier Sonic Series replaces the old Bullet range
New single humbucker Strat and Tele models added
The new Squier Sonic Series replaces the previous Bullet range of affordable guitars and basses. These come in new colours and include four Stratocaster variations, two Mustangs, and a single-humbucker Esquire model, plus two basses.
Squier Sonic Series
The Squier Sonic models now include new colours like California Blue, Flash Pink and Torino Red. Updating the Bullet range was probably a good idea for Squier, as the competition for affordable guitars is a lot stronger than ever.
Sonic Features
This new series now includes a single-humbucker Stratocaster and Telecaster, which is a new pickup layout for this budget line. They all use proprietary Squier ceramic pickups, whether single-coil or humbucking models.
Generally, the construction across the whole range uses a poplar body, with a bolt-on maple neck, either maple or Indian laurel fretboards. They all have narrow-tall frets and the relevant Squier hardware for each model.
Squier Sonic Stratocasters
The Sonic Stratocaster models are available in SSS, HSS, H and HT (hardtail) configurations, with a left-handed option for the SSS version.
The SSS comes in Ultraviolet, California Blue, 2-Color Sunburst or Black finishes.
The hardtail Strat comes in Torino Red and Arctic White.
The HSS version of the Stratocaster comes in Tahitian Coral or Black finishes.
The single humbucker version is available in either Black or Flash Pink. This model has a strong Tom DeLonge vibe to it and I can see it being popular.
Squier Sonic Telecaster
The Telecaster models come in Torino Red, Butterscotch Blonde, Black and California Blue finishes.
Squier Sonic Esquire
The Esquire model is available in Ultraviolet or an Arctic White finish.
Squier Sonic Mustang and Mustang HH
The Mustang is available as a standard model in Torino Red and 2-Color Sunburst. Or as an HH version which comes in California Blue or Flash Pink.
Squier Sonic Bronco Bass and Precision Bass
The first of the two bass models is the Sonic Bronco Bass which comes in Black, Arctic White and Tahitian Coral finishes.
Whereas, the Sonic Precision Bass comes in Black, 2-Color Sunburst and California Blue.
