AKAI MPC Live 2 Beatclub Timbaland Edition – is it worth it?
AKAI Professional has teamed up with legendary producer Timbaland to release the MPC Live 2 Beatclub Timbaland Edition. This very special MPC Live 2 comes loaded with custom content, including Timbaland’s famous drum sounds. AKAI says they’re only making 500 of these, so you’ll need to be quick if you want to get your hands on this special-edition MPC Live 2.
AKAI MPC Live 2 Beatclub Timbaland Edition
The new Beatclub Timbaland Edition is of course an MPC Live 2 at heart, so you get all the features of the regular version: 16 velocity-sensitive RGB pads, a 7-inch screen, 16 GB internal storage, and the MPC 2 software for Mac or PC in case you prefer a hybrid workflow. The standalone sampler and production center even boasts a rechargeable battery and a pair of built-in speakers, so it’s perfect for making beats on the go.
What makes this version special is the content. The AKAI MPC Live 2 Beatclub Timbaland Edition comes with a 32 GB SD card loaded with exclusive content from Timbaland’s Beatclub subscription service. This includes the “Bounce Coming Up” MPC expansion, three Beatclub Essential MPC expansions, and sounds inspired by the likes of Mike Dean, CashMoneyAP, Tainy, Mike Will Made-It, Rance from 1500 or Nothing, and many more. If you’ve always wanted to get your hands on Timbaland’s famous drum sounds, this is probably the best way to get them.
Custom serial plate
To add to the exclusive experience of this limited-edition MPC, it features a custom serial plate with the production number. In addition to this, AKAI and Beatclub throw in an exclusive merchandise bundle and a 12-month subscription to Beatclub. According to AKAI, the Timbaland MPC is limited to 500 units, so here’s your chance to own something really special. It also sports a custom splash screen, so you’ll be reminded of its awesomeness every time you boot it up.
What do you think – is the AKAI MPC Live 2 Beatclub Timbaland Edition worth the extra money over the regular version?
