Night Rider
RYK says that Night Rider is the love child of a sequencer and filter bank. It has four multimode filters with stereo capability combined with a six-stage, four-channel modulation sequencer. It’s capable of doing 70s swooshing filter sweeps, vocal formats, filter pings and Karplus Strong twangs.
Inside each filter block are a pingable 6dB and 12dB bandpass filter, a variable width 12dB bandpass filter, a Comb filter for Karplus Strong vibes and an All Pass filter for your regular phasing. At the end of the chain is a “bad-ass clipping saturator”.
It has two inputs with various internal routing possibilities and a stereo output with panning control for each filter. You can clock the modulation sequencer, scan it and interpolate it; and you have CV control over that. Along with frequency cutoff offset, slew, and resonance. RYK has also built in MIDI control.
Night Rider has an internal memory for storing filter and animation setups, formant presets and chords.
As with previous RYK modules Night Rider is undoubtedly going to be a unique journey of exploration. It sounds completely epic and I look forward to a deeper explanation.
