Introducing the new Universal Audio SC-1 large-diaphragm condenser, a versatile modelling mic with the free Hemisphere Mic Modeling Plugin.
With this modelling plug-in, you have access to some legendary microphones and you can also use the plug-in with the SD-1 and SP-1 microphones.
Universal Audio SC-1
The SC-1 is an ultra-linear cardioid condenser with extended dynamic range and extremely low distortion levels, perfect for capturing vocals, speech, acoustic guitar, and amp cabinet.
According to Universal Audio, the maximum SPL is 145 dB with 12 dB of inherent noise, which is the best rating for any modelling microphone in its class.
The technology behind the Hemisphere Modelling System is the same as used in the Sphere microphones, giving you access to iconic Neumann, Sony, and AKG mics, as well as many others.

Within the plug-in interface, you can alter the proximity, shift the axis, and filter unwanted frequencies even in post-production, which makes it a useful tool.
A new feature, coming this November allows the UA modelling mics to perform at their best, with ultra-low latency when using them in conjunction with the UA Apollo audio interfaces. However, Hemisphere is available natively and runs in all major DAWs.
