Blinksonic have released Processorz, a completely free device for Reaktor Blocks which adds a fruity performance effects processor. Trigger effects via MIDI, mouse or QWERTY keyboard to remix and add some dynamic processing to Reaktor’s output.
Processorz
It’s a bunch of remixing effects, set in a 5×5 grid that let you play with the output. There are modulation effects like phaser, flanger and auto-pan. There’s distortion and bit reduction, ring modulation and weird noises. There are glitch effects such as scratch and stutter, loop, reverse and repeat. And of course filters, resonators and a tape stop.
Each effect has two controllable parameters that appear at the side when selected. The effects can either be on as long as a key is held, or they can be locked so you can leave it on and go and play somewhere else.
Processorz is completely open to the internal Blocks wiring. It can take up to 4 stereo sources, which have mix and send controls on the left-hand side. Without other Blocks loaded it can work as an effects processor in any DAW.
Substanz
Processorz is part of a larger drum machine and groovebox sampler called Substanz. It gives you 4 sample decks to play with, step sequencers all sorts of performance tools for running an entire set. Being able to play with Processorz for free is a great way to introduce people to the amazing Reaktor based work Blinksonic have been doing.
Processorz is terrific fun, it’s free and so you’d be an idiot not to go and spend some time with it. It’s in French but you don’t have to understand the language to enjoy the sound.
