The Avantone Pro CLA-10A Limited Edition isn’t just retro for retro’s sake, it takes the NS-10 design to new heights with modern innovation.
Love them or hate them, we’ve had the Yamaha NS-10 debate before on Gearnews and they remain one of the most polarizing pieces of equipment ever used in studios.
Avantone Pro CLA-10A Limited Edition
Now in a natural mahogany veneer, CLA-10A Limited Edition allows you to relive the legendary glory days of 1980s music production like Bob Clearmountain and many more of our music heroes.
Like the current model of the CLA-10A, the limited edition is also designed in collaboration with superstar engineer/producer Chris Lord-Alge. In addition, it’s got the same 200 W Class AB amplification and the VTPC control to emulate the various NS10 models.

The CLA-10A Limited Edition is currently available for order from Thomann. Meanwhile, you can still get the original edition, as well as the passive version.
Overall, Avantone Pro has created a way for you to experience classic music production and extended the already seemingly endless lifespan of the NS-10.
Whether you’re new to music or an experienced campaigner, you can get value from using the CLA-10, even as a second pair of monitors.
There’s surely a good reason that NS-10 monitors were used to create some of our favourite records, but are they still relevant today? This remains the eternal conundrum.
