The Fuzzrocious Pedals Blast Furnace fuzz pedal was kicking around at the NAMM Show this year but managed to stay under the radar. It’s now due out in June and so we thought we’d bring you up to speed on a promising new effort from Fuzzrocious.
Gated Fuzz
This new fuzz pedal from Fuzzrocious is available in either a hand-painted or slightly cheaper screen printed version. Both circuits are identical regardless of which paint job you prefer.
The Blast Furnace has that lovely gated fuzz tone that many players, including myself, love. The pedal also features a a short-timed delay, which you engage using the left momentary footswitch. This allows you to get some really nice repeats to the fuzz, some you can almost get it to take off and sound like it’s about to explode as it oscillates around.
Hot Fuzz
You can also use either the fuzz or the delay by themselves, but it looks like it will be a lot more fun when you use both in conjunction. The main controls are labelled V (volume) and R (repeats) are your two main controls for the pedal. A trim pot adjusts the delay time.
The momentarily latching footswitch means you can just add some really nice effects to get your fuzz tone different to all the other fuzz pedals out there. I really like this feature, as it gives you some interesting options. I love a nice gated fuzz, so this pedal ticks a few boxes for me. Watch the demo video below and see what you think.
