AlphaTheta rekordbox 7 brings in some intuitive features
The latest version of the industry-standard DJ-set prep software.
With AlphaTheta rekordbox 7, the GUI and browser have been redesigned, offering you a range of new features to improve your workflow.
While rekordbox may have begun as a humble bridging software package to prepare files for Pioneer CDJ and XDJ media players, it’s now a far more evolved part of the modern DJ ecosystem.

Most of the new features of rekordbox 7 are in line with the management of your music library and finding both new and old tracks to play in your sets. In addition, the preferences menu now has a handy search function, allowing you to change those hard-to-reach settings in seconds.
In addition, rekordbox 7 is over 50% faster and more CPU-friendly than the previous version. This makes it possible for users on older laptops to still enjoy the new features with great performance.
What’s more, subscribers and hardware unlock users can now access a new dual-player view in export mode. Here, you’ll find features like beat jump, auto gain, and 3-band EQ kill switches.
As an owner of compatible AlphaTheta hardware, you no longer need to be plugged in while using rekordbox. Now, you can simply link your profile with your registered hardware to access the additional features.
There is also a new collaborative playlist function that allows up to five DJs to collaborate on building playlists for the next gig. Of course, there is no music sharing, but users of the same streaming platforms can build and share playlists for future use.
Overall, rekordbox seems like it’s moving in the right direction. However, many users are still awaiting more extensive stem separation functionality.
