MasterSounds Mixers Reborn

[September 19 2024] Just a few months ago we passed on the sad news that MasterSounds was discontinuing some of its products, including the Two Valve MK2 and Four Valve MK2 rotary DJ mixers

Today we have some good news: Union Audio, who worked with MaserSounds on those mixers, will take over production and rebrand them as the two.valve and four.valve.

“We are delighted to return these much loved and enjoyed products to our own portfolio, which has expanded to meet the diverse needs of our customers, whilst maintaining the same superior audio excellence, build construction and innovative design across the range,” said Andy Rigby-Jones, CEO of Union Audio Limited.

The two.valve & four.valve are available now through the Union Audio Limited website and authorized retailers.

As mentioned in the original article (below), MasterSounds will continue to offer after service to owners of the original Two Valve MK2 and Four Valve MK2.

MasterSounds Ceases Production

[June 13 2024] Just a few short months ago I wrote a story on the best rotary mixers and boutique mixing consoles for DJs. One of the featured manufacturers was UK outfit MasterSounds, whose Radius 2 MK2, Radius 4 MK2, Two Valve MK2 and Four Valve MK2 duly impressed us.

Now it appears that these mixers as well as other gear from the company and its partner Union Audio will be no more.

The End of an Era

Making the announcement on Instagram under the banner “The End Of An Era”, the company stated that they were currently building the last units of DJ mixers, FX units, ISO4 four-band isolator, and LinearPOWER supplies designed for their refurbished Technics SL-1200s.

“Once these are gone”, said the company’s Ryan Shaw, “we won’t be producing or selling any more of the above products, which I truly believe will become classics of the future”.

He continued: “May I take this opportunity to thank you all for the unrivalled support you have given MasterSounds over the past 8 years of selling our incredible hand-made DJ mixers, FX Units ISO4s and LinearPOWER’s and for Andy and his amazing team of true lifelong friends at Union Audio for one hell of a ride.”

Continuing On

This is not the end of that company, however, just the DJ mixer and effects division. The outfit, along with Union Audio, will continue to manufacture high-end sound systems, such as the Clarity M, along with audio accessories such as vinyl weights and provide turntable sales.

The team will also continue to offer aftercare for all of their products, including the discontinued mixers and effects.

All discontinued products will remain available for sale on the company’s site while supplies last.
