Harley Benton HB-50 Semi-Hollow Bass: Cherry Red and Vintage Orange

The new Harley Benton HB-50 is quite the vintage-style showstopper. You’ll find it in two color variants: Cherry Red and Vintage Orange. It’s got that vintage look that you’ll recognize from the semi-hollow bass legends from the likes of Ibanez, Höfner, and others. Compared to the HB-60 series from ten years ago, Harley Benton has made a few subtle improvements here.

The body is made of maple with a curved top and a set-neck construction. The neck is made of Canadian maple in a C-shape. The HB-50’s fretboard is made of laurel, potentially giving it a warmer sound than amaranth.

The e-bass has a mighty 864 mm scale length and 22 nickel-silver frets. It has dot and side inlays in a white binding that covers both the body and neck.

Alnico 5 humbucker and die-cast tuners

Another difference to the HB-60 is that the Harley Benton HB-50 uses a single Alnico 5 humbucker pickup, an Artec MMC4 soapbar model. The bass also has a volume, tone control, and three-way switch. It’s got all the vibes of a vintage bass!

Modern design? Am I seeing the same pictures? The design is rather traditional!
