Erica Synths announce Fusion VCF and VCA version 2
The Erica Synths Fusion range of Eurorack modules are both aesthetically and sonically gorgeous due to the fat glowing vacuum tube sitting dead in the centre. The original Fusion voltage controlled filter and voltage controlled amplifier, released in 2014, have been updated and grown some extra knobs.
Fusion VCF v2
It’s a selectable 24dB/12dB 4 pole low pass filter with a tube driving the signal between stages. This tends to give it a “thump” and a warmth that’s pretty unique in Eurorack. The resonance has a volume compensation circuit to prevent the signal drop you get from pushing the resonance. One other unique aspect is the inclusion of a three input mixer, so you can combine three signals through the filter. Each input has a separate gain knob which can push then independently into the tube for distortion.

Self-oscillation can be achieved by feeding the mix output back into one of the inputs. You can then use the filter to alter the drone.
The Fusion VCF v2 should be available soon for €290. More information available on the Erica Synths website.

Fusion VCA v2
There’s less information available on the new VCA v2. But, this being Fusion, we know it’s not just there to amplify, it also wants to drive and distort. There’s a Bias knob which can add tremolo effects. The Feedback knob introduces further harmonics and acts a bit like a filter cutoff. And the Deform knob dictates the amount of drive to the signal.
The price according to the video is €240. Hopefully, the full details will come along soon.
