The Taylor Legacy Collection celebrates both Taylor’s rich history and the brand’s ongoing evolution and heritage. This collection includes five acoustic models that blend traditional with modern design elements.
Newly designed rosewood/spruce wood models
Three models are redesigned from the iconic 800 series but with rosewood/spruce wood: the 810e, 815e, and the 12-string 855e. They’re inspired by some of Bob Taylor’s earliest guitars. With modern touches, they bridge the gap between Taylor’s roots and today’s acoustic guitar world.
These three Dreadnoughts combine the classic acoustic guitar body shape with modern features like Taylor’s patented neck shape, traditional X-bracing and a straight-ear peghead shape that hearkens back to the company’s Lemon Grove days. Each model also comes with large diamond fretboard inlays in mother-of-pearl and a faux-tortoiseshell pickguard.
Grand Auditorium
The two most exciting models in the Taylor Guitars Legacy Collection are the 514ce and the 714ce. Both put Bob Taylor’s legendary Grand Auditorium body in the spotlight. Taylor chose solid cedar wood for the top.
Inspired by Bob’s original models, these retrospective guitars appeal to traditional and modern guitarists and illustrate the evolution of Taylor’s iconic sound over half a century. Both come with LR Baggs Element VTC undersaddle pickups with sound hole-mounted controls.
The first 100 guitars in the Taylor Guitars Legacy Collection will be available with a signature by Bob Taylor himself, giving these instruments an exclusive status and the opportunity to own a piece of Taylor’s history. Each of these guitars features an inside label personally signed by Taylor founders Bob Taylor and Kurt Listug. The additional models of the series will feature the same build and wood, minus Bob’s and Kurt’s signatures.
