Abasi Concepts Micro-Aggressor: Unleash Your Tone
Tosin Abasi has announced his second effect pedal and its a compressor
Tosin Abasi’s Abasi Concepts has unveiled its latest innovation: the Micro-Aggressor Compressor. This new pedal promises to enhance your tone with its unique blend of compression, boost, and tone-shaping capabilities.
Micro-Aggressor Compressor
Designed to counteract the sterile nature of traditional compressors, the Micro-Aggressor injects your signal with vibrant, expressive tones. It is Abasi Concepts‘ second pedal, following the Pathos distortion released in 2018.
This is also Abasi’s second release in recent weeks. Its new Ernie Ball Music Man Gallium Kaizen model, with a unique aging finish, was announced.
Dual Compression
Its dual compression circuits work harmoniously to preserve your guitar’s natural attack and sustain while adding a satisfying compression level. The design also uses a premium transformer, adding a dynamic and organic tube amp-like response.
“After several years of development, we are very proud to introduce the Micro-Aggressor: a boost-style compressor crafted for guitarists seeking vibrant, expressive tones.” – Abasi Concepts.
The controls consist of Level, which adds more volume to compensate for the compression, and a tilt-style-eq called Clarity. There are also controls for Bloom and Smack (parallel secondary compression circuit) that can fine-tune your compression and low-end impact, respectively.
Premium Pedal
It has relay true-bypass switching, as you would expect from a premium pedal, and I expect a high-end compression circuit with this new design. It runs from an external 9V power supply, comes with a soft touch switch, and has top-mounted jacks.
Once it is available, it will be interesting to see what guitarists think of this new compressor. I suspect it will be popular with technical players, as it could help maintain dynamics while keeping everything nice and even.
Pre-Order
The Abasi Concepts Micro-Aggressor is available for pre-order now at $249. Shipping begins on 18 November.
