Dear Reality Exoverb Micro: Immersive Reverb for Stereo Mixes
Dear Reality Exoverb Micro is now free! The reverb plugin is based on the same spatial reverb engine as its bigger brother Exoverb. Dear Reality says that Exoverb Micro helps enhance spatial perception and create a sense of three-dimensionality in your stereo mixes.
Exoverb Micro comes with eight acoustic scenes based on synthesized multi-IRs. The main feature of the resizable GUI is a triangular pad that lets you find the perfect balance of early reflections, reverb tail, and dry signal. You can also adjust the pre-delay and decay times.
Exoverb Micro is available for macOS and Windows in VST3, AU, and AAX formats.
Little Audio Little EQ: Free Tone-Shaping EQ for Windows
Little EQ by Little Audio is a free tone-shaping EQ based on the sound of a passive filter. It also includes an output transformer emulation for added saturation.
The developer says that the goal was to create a clean-sounding EQ that lets you shape the sound while preserving its body. They used neural networks to capture the characteristics of a homemade passive filter and an EI96 output transformer.
In addition to three EQ bands (low, mid, high), Little EQ offers a high pass filter. Each band has several frequencies to choose from. You also get quick access to a handful of presets at the bottom of the GUI.
Little EQ is currently only available as a VST3 plugin for Windows.
Viator DSP Monster Channel: Free Distortion Plugin
Viator DSP is back with Monster Channel, a free distortion plugin with versatile tone controls. The developer says that Monster Channel is based on a model of a Class-D amplifier by a “major manufacturer”.
The large Drive control in the center is clearly the main event. However, Monster Channel also includes a set of filters and a tone knob for shaping the sound that goes into the distortion. It’s also got a Mix knob for adding just the right amount of effect.
Monster Channel is available for macOS, Windows, and Linux in VST3 and AU formats.
