Music Man Valentine Collection 2024: Four new finishes and enhanced pickups for Maroon 5 guitarist
The Music Man Valentine Collection 2024 features new finishes and improved pickups, giving this popular signature model more options in time for the new year. It is available as the Valentine and Valentine HH models.
Ernie Ball Music Man Valentine
These new Music Man Valentine Collection 2024 models have improved pickups and are available in new colours: Ivory White, Cherry, Gloss Black, and Trans Buttermilk.
Maroon 5
The original version of the Ernie Ball Music Man James Valentine “Valentine” signature guitar already combined modern design with versatile sound options. Valentine plays in Maroon 5 and needs various guitar tones to cover the band’s back catalog of hits.
Telecaster and ES-335 Tones
When developing the Music Man Valentine, James Valentine wanted to combine his two favourite guitars: a Fender Telecaster and a Gibson ES-335.
The two models include the Valentine HH and the Valentine. The selection of pickups and their wiring, including Ernie Ball’s heat treatment of the two humbuckers on the Valentine HH, helps achieve some of these desired tones.
Staggered Bridge
The Valentine model’s single-coil bridge (with slanted/staggered Tele-style polepieces) pickup delivers clear and articulate highs. In contrast, the neck humbucking pickup provides warmer, fuller tones and is splittable for extra versatility.
Tap & Boost
A coil tap allows you to switch between the pickup modes to create different sound nuances. The circuits also include a push-push-boost circuit with a 20 dB boost. This enables you to access additional volume when required.
Construction
The guitar has a flat ash body, an oiled and waxed roasted maple neck, and a choice of
rosewood or maple fretboard with 22 stainless steel frets and glow-in-the-dark side dots. It uses an EBMM modern hardtail bridge with curved vintage saddles, so it should help with that Tele-twang and make it feel comfortable on the hand.
Tuning stability should be excellent, as the design uses a straight string pull across the nut and a set of Schaller locking tuners.
Availability & Price
