Final D8000 DC and DC Pro $4000+ Planar Headphones: Fancy a Pair?
The ultimate high-end planar headphone designs.
The Final D8000 DC and DC Pro are two new models of Final’s ultra high-end planar-magnetic headphones with unique driver technology.
Back in 2017, Final introduced the D8000 series that expanded the possibilities of planar headphone designs. Now, with the new Da Capo (DC) versions, the Japanese manufacturer has taken its concept to even greater heights.
Final D8000 DC and DC Pro
Equipped with the unique Air Film Damping System (AFDS) the DC and DC Pro headphones allow the most articulate transient response with the lowest distortion levels possible. In addition, the acoustic chambers and earpads have been redesigned for improved audio performance.
The lightweight etched aluminium foil driver diaphragms are the key to the system’s responsiveness. This allows precision dynamics and an airy, detailed sound with glistening high frequencies.
Built with an aluminium magnesium alloy chassis and Washi Paper Ear Pads and Headband, the DC is now 120 grams lighter than its D8000 predecessor. Engineered for the utmost comfort, the headband arc has been optimized for a gentle fit.
While the D8000 DC model offers a more neutral overall listening experience, the DC Pro offers a slightly more tailored frequency curve with a low-frequency response that increases with the volume. Moreover, the DC Pro uses silver braided cables for added value.
If you’re part of the cult of headphone users on Reddit, it’s likely that you’ve been anticipating this release from Final for some time, and it’s set to be the last set of headphones you’ll ever buy. What’s more, the D8000 DC could even be a great option for mixing and mastering applications.
