Sonible prime:vocal Brings Your Vocal Recordings up to Studio Standard with AI
One Click - and prime:vocal Cleans Vocals, Removes Reverb and Adds Them to the Mix
Sonible has released prime:vocal, a piece of software that uses artificial intelligence to improve and clean up vocal recordings. Available as both a standalone and an ARA plug-in (currently in beta), the software is aimed at music producers who want to improve sound material that has been recorded in less than ideal conditions. Although almost anyone can record vocals these days, the results often suffer from distracting background noise, room reflections or unbalanced frequencies. This is where prime:vocal comes in, making every voice sound like it was recorded in a professional studio.
Sonible prime:vocal: No More Bad Vocal Recordings
At the heart of prime:vocal is a series of intelligent cleaning and enhancement stages that work together to produce a clear and balanced sound. The software removes unwanted background noise, such as hissing, humming or crosstalk, and effectively reduces the amount of room in the recording. At the same time, the integrated AI takes care of the often disturbing sibilants and plosives. The Balance parameter ensures that the signal has a professional sound profile by intelligently balancing frequencies. Additional features, such as automatic dynamic control, create a more assertive overall sound.
prime:vocal offers a simple user interface and can be used as a stand-alone application. As soon as an audio file is loaded, the software automatically starts an offline analysis and makes initial improvements. You can then selectively edit and adjust individual sections. In this way, prime:vocal can quickly turn an uncontrolled recording into a professional vocal track. Even when recording in raw rooms or with distracting reverb, the tool helps to preserve the natural sound of the voice and remove unwanted reflections. And it does it all automatically – very cool!
Clear Vocals With AI Noise Reduction and De-Essing
prime:vocal is also ideal for removing electrical or mechanical noise without distorting the character of the voice. The AI-based De-Esser function reduces sibilants, while plosives are intercepted to avoid the typical “p” effect of loud consonants. The software is particularly useful for ADR recordings, allowing you to repair original tracks and save time and money on costly re-recording.
Ralf Baumgartner, co-founder and CEO of Sonible, emphasises that prime:vocal is tailored to the specific needs of vocals. The software combines the company’s most advanced technologies to achieve natural results that eliminate unwanted elements while preserving authentic sound. The focus on vocals allows for targeted optimisation that is often difficult to achieve with other audio tools.

Could maybe become a good alternative and competitor to iZotope RX. I’m kinda sick of iZotope now that they are pushing so hard for subscriptions and releasing new major versions every time they add a single new feature (so that people with perpetual licenses need to buy a new one every 6-12 months, making it way to expensive to upgrade perpetual licenses).
