Ori Bass Guitars from Mayones: Sharp Visuals for NAMM 2025
These Ori bass guitars from Mayones have been unveiled at the 2025 NAAM show. Providing striking looks and Japanese heritage, let’s see what else they have to offer.
Mayones Ori Enji 5
Looks wise? Wow, they’ve sure done something different. These Ori bass models have an interesting ‘Multi-Angle Origami Double Offset ash body. The necks are three-piece but are all asymmetrical and house 24 frets. Moreover, we’ve got a Wenge Wood finger board which will result in some cool tones as well as stunning visuals.
Ranging from 863mm to 939mm scale lengths, these will feel like proper bass line machines. A cool little feature, we’ve got luminescent fret inlays which are both functional for live use, but also excites your inner child.
Bespoke Pickups
Aside from the aesthetics, the Ori Enji 5 will also sound mean. We’re working with Mayones Velvetrone Grim VF pickups. Three humbuckers overall, providing that fat bass sound that we all hope for. Complete with a three-band Musashi Nitōryū preamp, you’ll have tonal control over your bass’ sound.
Further control includes a single volume pot, benefiting from a push/pull for switching between active and passive. Plus, your typical controls for bass and treble, along with a mids pot.
One of my favourite tonal features is the integrated headphone amp, which can be charged via USB-C. Along with a headphone output, you can practice way into the night!
Verdict
Overall, these 5 string origami-inspired Ori bass guitars look killer. The three finishes of Gunmetal Grey, Mecha Blue and Kitsune Orange fit the bill perfectly. As this is a NAMM release, we’re unsure of pricing and availability. However, we’ll be sure to keep you updated when these are fully available.
