Cort Guitars is changing the game once again with the latest version of its X-Series, the Cort X700 Mutility II. This update includes bold new colors and an even longer multi-scale neck. Let’s take a look.

Cort X700 Mutility II: What’s new in Version 2?

The Cort X700 Mutility II is once again a multi-scale model with a very sleek design, but it’s got a bunch of improvements over the original X700. One of the most obvious upgrades is from a 3-way switch to a 5-way switch, giving you even more tonal options. Plus, the new scale lengths also make it super playable.

The new model comes in two colors: Tactical Gray and Military Beige. Its slim body with double cutaway makes it super easy to play. Also, the American basswood body gives it the perfect warmth and richness for any genre.

Another highlight is the bolt-on multi-scale neck consisting of a 5-ply mix of roasted maple and walnut. With a new scale length of 25.0″-25.5″, this neck is quite a bit longer than the one from the previous model at 24.75″-25.2″. The roasted maple fretboard with a 15.75″ radius is home to 24 stainless-steel frets, a 1 11/16″ Graph Tech® Black TUSQ nut, and Luminlay side dots – for easy navigation. The hexagonal headstock, tilted back, also increases the guitar’s sustain and completes the almost aerodynamic look.

At the heart of the Cort X700 Mutility II are the two Fishman® Fluence Open Core Modern Humbuckers. With their elegant black nickel covers, they provide powerful and precise tones for any musical genre. A simple master volume knob controls the output volume. In contrast, a push/pull tone knob combined with the improved 5-way selector switch opens up a wide range of tonal possibilities – ideal for almost any musical endeavor.

A special feature is the independent hardtail bridge and the separate saddle for each string that passes through the body. This ensures precise intonation and improves the guitar’s sustain and articulation. The offset Cort locking tuners keep the strings in tune even after excessive bending sessions.
