Vox AC30 Limited Edition: Blue and Cream, still All-tube
Get even more 60s vibes with this edition!
Not much needs to be said about the AC series,? Vox’s all-tube AC10, AC15, and especially the legendary AC30 are among the most popular combos around. But when Vox releases a new AC30 Limited Edition (as the AC10 and AC15) that also comes in a really cool limited edition color, there’s just no way around it.
Vox AC30 Limited Edition: Two Tone and Cream
AC10C1-TTBC, AC15C1-TTBC and AC30C2-TTBC are the somewhat cryptic model names of the new edition. The last four letters represent the new color: Two Tone Blue and Cream. So we get an AC30 Limited Edition, an AC15 Limited Edition and an AC10 Limited Edition.
The grill has the Vox logo in the famed vintage block style, which gives it a classic look. These new looks give the all-tube combo that British vibe from the ’60s. Inside, it’s pretty much the same as the regular AC series.
What’s inside?
The AC10 Limited Edition continues to feature two 12AX7 preamp tubes and two EL84 power amp tubes, along with a Celestion V10X speaker. In addition, the smallest amp in the series offers one channel, 10 watts RMS output, and controls for gain, bass, treble, and reverb depth. It weighs 12.3 kg.
The AC15 Limited Edition is equipped with three ECC83 / 12AX7 preamp tubes and two EL84s in the power amp, with a 1×12″ Celestion G12M Green Back speaker at 16 ohms. This iteration offers two channels: NORMAL and TOP BOOST. There are separate volume controls for each and treble and bass controls for the top boost channel. Instead of reverb, there is an tremolo. The AC15 LE weighs 22 kg.
The largest amp in the series, the AC30 Limited Edition, features four channels: again, NORMAL and TOP BOOST; however, both offer separate low-gain and high-gain inputs. This model also has a striking bright pink control panel.
#As the C2 in the name suggests, two 12” Celestion G12M Greenback speakers are built in, each with 8 ohms. As for the tubes, , three ECC83 / 12AX7 preamp tube and four EL84 power amp tubes makie this a mighty 30-watt monster. Fittingly, both effects from the smaller versions are included here: tremolo and reverb. There is also an FX loop on the back.
How much do the AC Limited Edition combos cost?
All three combos are available to order now from Thomann, with delivery in four to five weeks. The Vox AC10C1-TTBC* costs €729. The mid-range Vox AC15C1-TTBC* is priced at €999. And the largest AC combo, Vox AC30 Limited Edition*, costs €1,449.
