Martin Doubleneck: Here Comes the Grand J-28E DN
Let’s start with somewhat more earthly price ranges than the D-3 Millionth and the D-300. With the Grand J-28E DN, the manufacturer is introducing an absolute rarity: the Martin Doubleneck. Anyone who paid attention and is a fan of John Mayer heard the murmurings when the guitarist played a Martin Doubleneck on his solo tour. And now it’s available to everyone!
Martin has fitted a six-string and a twelve-string into the Jumbo model. Solid spruce for the top, rosewood on the back and sides, multiply binding, ebony fingerboard(s), both necks with 20 frets – a very solid base for the Marton doubleneck! A Fishman Double Neck System is installed as a pickup as well. You can get the Grand J-28E DN from Thomann* for €10,399. A case is included.
D-3 Millionth and D-300: Celebrating Three Million Guitars Sold
Martin sold three million guitars after reaching two million in 2016 and they are celebrating with a very special model. There will only be three of the D-3 Millionth worldwide, with serial numbers 3,000,000, 3,000,001, and 3,000,002. Only the last one will be available for purchase, so you’ll have to be quick!
This dreadnought really goes to town visually. The grain of an American sycamore maple (sycamore) is embossed on the top. It gets even more spectacular on the back (Brazilian rosewood), where an entire sycamore tree is emblazoned with abalone and decorated with pearls and gold. Similar elegant decorations can also be seen on the fretboard.
Martin is also introducing a similar but slightly less exclusive model, the D-300. Thirty of these guitars are being made! Adirondack spruce top, ebony pickguard, liquid metal brass pins, gold Waverly tuners—it doesn’t get much more elegant than this. So, if you have the necessary $300,000 lying around in your spare change, you can get this special piece of guitar artistry from the manufacturer delivered to your home.
The Martin CEO-11: Only 1.111 Copies available worldwide
The Martin CEO-11 features a multi-piece-grained white oak back and sides and an FSC®-certified European spruce top for a full, dynamic, and warm sound. The New Horizons Blue Burst top and dark mahogany sides give the guitar a pretty distinctive look.
The Unalome symbol on the headstock is a special touch, as this Buddhist symbol represents the path to freedom. The flamed maple neck and forward spruce X-bracing promote stability and support the sound. The CEO-11 comes with one pickup system. Equipped with Fishman Aura VT Blend electronics, it sounds great on stage and in the studio.
The number 11 in the model name represents creativity and intuition. With only 1,111 models of the Martin CEO-11 available, it is intended for musicians who want to stand out both in sound and appearance. Each model comes with a blue paper label bearing the serial number and signature of Thomas Ripsam. A stylish case is also included. The CEO-11 is available at Thomann* for 9,099 euros.
Centennial Concert Uke: 100 Years of Martin Ukuleles
That is far from it! There is also a new addition to the Martin ukulele range. The model is made entirely of sinker mahogany with a rosewood fingerboard. It also has Waverly nickel tuners and white dot inlays on the fingerboard. Twelve frets, 381 mm scale length – this ukulele is massive! The model costs 2,499 euros at Thomann*.
