Fender Player II Strat & Tele – New SPKL3TS Limited Edition Guitars for NAMM 2025
Stratocaster or Telecaster? The New Player II Series
Fender is introducing two new limited-edition Player II Series models at the 2025 NAMM Show that combine classic design with modern features. The Stratocaster and Telecaster models in the series feature a bold 3-tone sunburst finish with sparkling gloss accents – hence the SPKL3TS moniker. Both instruments are mid-priced and aimed at musicians who value proven designs and flexible tonal options.
Fender Player II Series Updated: New Sunburst Strat and Tele
The Fender Player II Strat RW SPKL3TS combines an alder body with a Modern C maple neck and rosewood fretboard. The 22 medium jumbo frets and 25.5″ scale length provide a comfortable feel. Three single-coil pickups with Alnico 5 magnets are available and can be used in a variety of ways via a 5-way switch. The 2-point synchronized vibrato with steel saddles provides precise vibrato effects, while the ClassicGear tuners ensure reliable tuning.
The Player II Tele RW SPKL3TS also features the classic combination of alder body, maple neck and rosewood fretboard. The string-through-body construction with six steel saddles and the two single-coil pickups from the Player Series provide the typical Tele twang. Control is provided by two potentiometers and a 3-way switch, making it easy to create both classic and modern sounds.
Pricing and Availability
Both models are available for €899.00 each and can be pre-ordered here at Thomann*. Delivery time is between six and eight weeks. Unfortunately, left-handed models are not available and a case or bag is not included, which still makes the instruments an attractive choice in the mid-price range.
